What You'll Be Doing:

• Harden Production Data Infrastructure: Engineer, scale, and operationalize resilient data systems tailored for enterprise customers with demanding availability SLAs.
• Architect Real-Time Streaming Systems: Design and deploy stream-processing frameworks using tools like Apache Spark or Kafka to meet strict enterprise performance requirements.
• Build Event-Driven Integrations: Create backend capabilities that stream system events in real-time directly into customer environments.
• Eliminate Manual Operations via Infrastructure as Code: Lead the AWS architecture efforts and enforce environment changes globally using Terraform module design.
• Pioneer Data-Centric AI Services: Architect and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and agentic AI workflows integrated into core data services.
• Enforce Core Engineering Standards: Standardize complex data contracts and schemas across engineering teams to ensure synchronized, performant public APIs.
• Technical Mentorship: Guide and grow senior data engineers in system architecture, cloud networking, and production reliability.

Who You Are:

• Seasoned data engineer with 8+ years of experience designing and operating external-facing high-throughput data systems at scale (post-$50M ARR).
• Expert in production integration portfolios, with hands-on experience maintaining mission-critical customer-facing systems and managing incident escalations.
• Deep AWS cloud expertise, including networking, IAM, Lambda, Step Functions, and cost optimizations.
• Mastery of Snowflake architecture beyond SQL, including cluster optimization, multi-account deployments, secure data sharing, and data formats like Iceberg.
• Strong Terraform skills for managing complex, multi-environment infrastructures with secrets handling.
• Familiarity or direct experience with event-driven architectures and streaming frameworks like Apache Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
• Proven leader capable of directing cross-functional technical initiatives and mentoring senior engineers.
